I know Dr. Poythress personally and he’s a wonderful man and a brilliant, interdisciplinary scholar. His books are thought provoking and you are sure to find ideas that will stick with you (perhaps haunt you) for years.
His “redeeming…” series is part of a Kuyperian project of his to demonstrate how Christ can be sovereign over every discipline. I’ve heard him talk about quite a few of them and I’m always intrigued to see what he will do with these various disciplines. In the case of sociology, it amounts to basically scrapping everything and starting from scratch!
I recommend especially his Redeeming Science, and the two books on inerrancy are two great works on the subject. But by all means, make sure you read some Poythress before you die!
